Do you accept new patients?
We are delighted to welcome new patients to our office. We
appreciate your confidence in us when you refer your family and
friends.
How do you manage Infection control?
We take your safety very seriously and at our office
sterilization is a high priority. We practice universal precautions
as outlined by the Canadian Dental Association. All instruments and
handpieces are autoclaved under the strictest controls. Any items
that cannot be autoclaved are disposable and single use only.
Operatory surfaces are covered with disposable barriers and
uncovered areas are cleaned with certified disinfectants between
each patient. Each patient is provided with protective eyewear. Our
autoclaves are checked monthly by U of A’s monitoring service to
ensure adequate sterilization.
How do you prevent mercury from fillings harming the
environment?
Our amalgam separator is used to recover greater than 99% of the
mercury waste from the removal of old silver amalgam fillings. The
system prevents the contamination of our environment through the
municipal water sewer system.
How do you keep x-rays as safe as possible?
We take the least number of x-rays to tell us what we need to
care for you. We use very low levels of radiation, high speed film
and precise timers. You are protected with a lead apron and our
equipment is checked on a regular basis to make sure it is working
the way it should.
What about payment?
Payment is due at the time of treatment. For your convenience we
accept Visa, MasterCard and debit.
I have a dental insurance plan. How does that work?
We are happy to assist you with your dental claim. Your
insurance company will reimburse you directly. Most insurance
companies allow us to file your claim electronically and will
reimburse you quickly. Others require claim forms to be filled out
and mailed in. We are happy to help you with either format.
Dental benefits vary from company to company, and from policy to
policy. At times these can be very confusing. For any dental
treatment plan, we can submit a pre-determination to determine what
compensation you may receive from your insurance company.
How do I find more information on the services you
provide?
All our services and the procedures we do are described in
detail on the Canadian Dental Association website. See our links
page. |
